Egypt. Views of a village. Religious building (mosque?), man riding on a mule. Title reads: "Morning". Villagers lead cattle and camels through the village. Sheep are herded through countryside and over a bridge. A child runs along behind them. A woman walks through the street with water carrier on her head. Men greet each other in the street. Four women who have collected water from a small canal carry urns of water on their heads. Men working in the fields, ploughs pulled by water buffalo. Man digs a water trench with a pick. Many men working in the fields with hand tools. A man picks a crop by hand. Goats and sheep in a field. Man herds them with a stick. Children sit at school desks in the open air. Chicks.

School children read from books. C/U of schoolgirl reading. Shepherd with his flock. Woman doing her washing in a large pan. Woman rocks a baby (?) in a contraption made of wood and string. Women make large flat bread or pancakes and put them into an open fire. Street scenes. Several shops are shown. Evening. Donkeys, camels, water buffalo and cattle carry goods and pull ploughs. The sheep are herded back over the bridge. A group of workers leave the fields. Top shot of them as they walk back to the village. Men ride animals into town. Woman slices something with a two handled tool and throws it into a cooking pot. A family sit around a table to eat. A daughter washes her father's hands. The family eats in the open air. They peel a fruit or vegetable and eat it with the bread cooked earlier. A group of men sit around a large table. Some of them wear fez hats and some are smoking.
