    Pathe Pictorial takes us on a trip around America's National Parks.

    Various aerial shots of Niagara Falls. Pan American Aircraft lands and taxis along the runway past the camera. Passengers disembark from the plane and walk up walkways.

    Glacier National Park in Montana. Various scenic shots of the mountains, children playing in the snow, waterfalls, cars entering the park through a tunnel, lakes, etc. Nice shots of a bear walking across the road then approaching a camper van. The bear puts his front paws on the bonnet of the van and we see him from inside through the windscreen. C/U of the bear looking very friendly. Tourists explore on horseback. C/U of a young boy who rides wearing a cowboy hat. Various shots of flora and fauna of the park. A little chipmunk type creature nibbles on some food. Scenic shot featuring an international border marker. Shots of rivers, waterfalls, forest etc. Two girls sunbathe on the edge of a river. "Who said America was an expensive land of crowds and rush?" asks the narrator.

    Aerial shots of the Everglades National Park then various shots of the plants and animals of the Park. C/Us of cacti, shots of alligators. Footage of tourists walking along specially built walkways. A ranger looks through binoculars, various shots of bird life. High angle shot of powerboat used by rangers to maintain the nature reserve. Point of view shots from on board the ranger's boat as it speeds through the swamps.

    Yellowstone National Park is next. We see a family who are camping in a camper van. Various footage of them cooking on an outdoor barbecue and enjoying a meal (good C/U of bacon being fried in loads of fat) together in the great outdoors. Shots of moose and lots of bears (including a cute baby one) C/U of woman filming bears with a cine camera. The bears put their front paws on a car and look inside. Hot springs and Geysers are seen in Yellowstone National Park including "Old Faithfull". Scenic shots of waterfalls, rivers etc.

    Grand Canyon is seen in all its glory. Aerial shots, high angle shots of the canyon are seen. Panning shots of the scenery etc. A couple admire the view from an observation point. A middle aged couple feed chipmunks and squirrels.

    Hopi Indians in a nearby reservation perform a traditional dance in costume. Nice footage.

24 January 2015 marks 50 years since the death of British Prime Minister and international statesman, Sir Winston Churchill. British Pathé’s cameras followed Churchill throughout his career.
