He receives the sword in the name of the men and women who helped win the war, he goes on to warn of the "invisible enemies of fear, fatigue, selfishness and pessimism".
Note: Lord Mayor of London in 1946-1947 was Sir Bracewell Smith. In 1945-46 office was held by Sir Charles Davis.
