Topeka, Kansas, United States of America / USA

Various shots, scenes of destruction in the aftermath of the Topeka tornado which killed seventeen people and injured hundreds. Houses are wrecked, people look through the rubble. Twisted and upturned cars lie in the rubble amid complete devastation. Washburn University buildings also suffered - sorority row, the gymnasium, the maths building, the law library.

Note: Date on original record: 13/06/1966. A record on file states that the winds hit Topeka at supper time, cutting a path half a mile wide and fifteen miles long. The complete flattening of houses left 3500 people homeless
