  • Note that the horse-drawn cart is operated by the famous "Pickfords" moving company.

  • There's more footage of this story in clip 2378.15.

The man sat in the car in the cloth cap at 01:59 is Gustav Hamel. Given that Hamel went missing over the English Channel on 23 May 1914, never to be found, the clip's date range needs altering to 1910-1914.

    jamied 22nd Jun 2012
  • Oops, I earlier said there's more footage of this story in clip 2378.15 - the extra footage is actually in clip 2474.32.

    jamied 6th Mar 2013
