  • The test seen her took place on October 15 1925.

    The small plane is a de Havilland DH.53 HummingbIrd, Reg. No. G-EBQP, seen here engaged in "parasite aircraft" trials.

    The airship is the R-33, here bearing its demilitarised civil registration G-FAAG.

    "Flight Lieutenant Haig" is actually Squadron Leader Rollo Haig. More info of the event here, under the heading "R.33 as aircraft carrier".....
