"How Eve loves a wedding! In Hungary it is the event of events - the getting ready of the Bride." M/S of a group of ornately dressed women, traditional costume. They place a large head dress on the head of the bride to be. "Queer, isn't it, but no one seems to worry about the groom's preparations - it's Eve's day." The women fuss over the young bride. "Meanwhile, ribbons gay are needed to decorate the horses." M/S of a man tying large ribbons to horses' tack. C/U of two decorated horses. "...and the presents - sensible ones (of the furniture variety), are being loaded for transport to the Bride's new home." Crowds of villagers watch the presents being loaded onto the horse drawn cart. M/S of two men standing on a doorstep with several little children. They hold something - glasses to toast the happy couple?

"Then to the Church." The wedding party assemble and walk to the church. The bride walks towards the camera. She keeps wiping her face - crying perhaps. Two young girls sit in the horse drawn cart. One looks very shy and hides her face. Group of women wait outside the church. "After the ceremony the roadside makes a fine dance place and the fun begins - perhaps a little solemnly at first - " M/S of a group of couples in traditional dress doing a traditional dance in the open air. M/S of the musicians. "Everybody's here - even the youngest." High angle shot of two tiny tots dancing together. "And dancing (and refreshments) continue until the band breaks down and the party breaks up." Another shot of the dancing. M/S of a group of men who wear odd hats with a very high curved crown and what look like embroidered skirts. M/S of the wedding party, shows that the skirts are more like long aprons as from behind the men can be seen to be wearing trousers under them. M/S of three youngish boys (teenagers) swaying to the music. One holds a cigarette. M/S of the dancing.
