    A Sporting Chance.

    Location of events unknown.

Possibly related to rationing food? People stand waiting in line on a city street, all staring at the camera. Working class. Women holding babies. Slow pan down line - many children. A boy is tapping himself on the chest and calling to someone else in the crowd; girl is holding smaller sister's hand. Woman with pram. Little girl holding pet cat; really cute.

About 1 frame of CU butcher shop. Shot of crowd from above; with vegetable carts alongside and part of awning in FG. Barrow man tips his hat to us several times - it looks quite funny! - SL.

Animals are often the forgotten army of World War I. They displayed unwavering courage even when exposed to extreme conditions. British Pathé pay tribute to these forgotten warriors.

British Pathe captured many extraordinary events on film over its 80 year history but sometimes the cameras were switched on when tragedy struck.
