    A picturesque end - crowds watch destruction by fire of the frigate 'Franklin', one of the first ships built for US navy - 1916.

    Location of events unknown.

    American ship; the frigate 'Franklin'; is destroyed by fire. Shot of ship front diag. DS deck; with men working; building a big pile of boards. Ship's bow in flames; with pine tree nearby scorched. Ship burning; side view bow; pan back. People on docks watching the ship burning in BG; with big clouds of smoke filling nearly the whole frame. Finally a great shot of the fire at night; flames a great contrast to the dark sky.
