  • The incident featured here took place on 8 February 1940.

    Plane involved was a Douglas DC-2-185, Registration Number VH-USY, named "Bungana".

    The hero pilot was Captain Norman Croucher. The air hostess featured at the end of the clip is Mavis Matters.
