    VS of the wreckage of an Australian airliner lying in a field after it crash landed, with CUs of the engine, fuel tanks etc. lying in field. The plane crashed after colliding with an eagle but the pilot managed to land the machine, with no loss of life.

    The incident featured here took place on 8 February 1940.

    Plane involved was a Douglas DC-2-185, Registration Number VH-USY, named "Bungana".

    The hero pilot was Captain Norman Croucher. The air hostess featured at the end of the clip is Mavis Matters.
