  • "a man in leather helmet drinks from tea cup - J. G. Parry Thomas?" Yes, John Godfrey Parry-Thomas. He lived at Brooklands in a bungalow called "The Hermitage." He was chief engineer at Leyland Motors, then gave it up to race cars and break speed records.

    Parry-Thomas was killed in his Leyland-Thomas Special "Babs" at Pendine Sands on 3rd March 1927 while attempting to take the Land Speed Record from Malcolm Campbell.
