    Hamburg, Federal Republic of Germany (Western Germany).

    CU. German Derby crowd on racecourse before the horse race. MS. West German President Lubke rides in a small open horse drawn coach along the course. Fashionable women with large hats seen in crowd. Horses and jockeys getting ready for the race. MS. Jockeys mounting. Various shots of more people at race course. MS. Jockeys and horses parading. MV. Horses coming into start. As the tapes go up one of the horses is caught in it and there is a chaos. Various shots during the race and some good shots of the horses' hooves as they thunder along. The last furlong is in slow motion to the finish. Various shots of the winning horse 'Waidwerk' being led into winners enclosure. The President Lubke congratulates the jockey Micky Starosta.
