Titles read: 'NOW THE Special Pathe Pictorial Section for the Ladies - "1935 Fashions go ahead"'.

    London?

Various shots of the latest hats, influenced by Victorian and Edwardian styles. First we see a black Visca straw with a shovel brim modelled by Miss Betty Kean, "the young soubrette from Cochran's show 'Anything Goes' at the Palace Theatre". Betty then wears a red split straw hat with a high pointed crown.

The next hat is a white straw with an eye veil. Then a straw hat with a wide brim, cut back at the front and turned up at the back. Then three that are updated versions of Edwardian styles - a picture hat trimmed with a large organdie flower, a hemp straw hat with a white ostrich feather at the back and a velvet bow at the front and, finally, a fabulous black straw with a wide brim tilted down at the front and the crown covered with a white ostrich feather (I'll take this one!).

Commentator notes that the styles all look "quite modern and yet quite old-fashioned", and quotes the designer, Charlot, as saying "We're going back to go ahead".
