THERE ARE TWO VERSIONS OF THIS STORY ON SAME DIGIBETA. THIS VERSION HAS BEEN MADE FROM THE NEGATIVE SO WILL BE BETTER QUALITY THAN EARLIER VERSION TAKEN FROM PRINT.

"Twenty-seven years ago, a couple of fairy-like ladies burst upon an astonished world and shocked feminine susceptibilities by wrestling!" Film from 1905 is then shown with new intertitles.

Stage set with painted backdrop. Man in black suit walks into the centre of the stage and two women join him. They wear leotards, tights and flat shoes. They bow and take off their capes. They shake hands and some comedy wrestling ensues. They are pretty rough. One throws another over her head. They fight it out, doing some spectacular throws and tumbles - pretty funny stuff.

"A comparison here, with how Eve takes her all-in, all-out, and sometimes all-under, wrestling today, is somewhat amusing." M/S of a group of girls. Two wrestle, one is a referee and the others are bystanders. The girls roll around on the floor with the encouragement of the others. They look a bit more serious in their wrestling than the 1905 ladies. "But, when all's said and done, it was the woman of '05 who started the ball rolling!" More footage of the 1905 girls. They end their bout with a bow.

Was an item in Eve's Film Review issue number 562.

Safety print exists - probably in "Girl Power in the 1920s" roll.
