Chippenham, Wiltshire.

A vintage car rally marks the opening of a new motel in Chippenham. Narrator observes how the motel is a relatively new institution in Britain.

Various shots of the veteran cars arriving in front of the motel, most of the drivers and passengers wear historical costume. Cameraman focuses on some of the more elaborately dressed and their vehicles. Various shots of the cars driving through Chippenham streets. L/S of the Angel Hotel. People stand in the town square watching the cars arriving.

Smartly dressed woman cuts a ribbon in an opening ceremony. Vintage cars drive through a entrance into the motel - built in what used to be the stables of the Angel Hotel. Cars are manoeuvred into parking spaces in front of the motel.

C/U of the bonnet of a vintage Renault. Bonnet is opened to show us the works. The car is from the Montagu Motor Car Museum in Beaulieu. M/S of a man opening passenger door of a vintage car - a Citroen - and lowering some steps so that his wife can step aboard. He holds her arm as she steps up into the car. High angle shot of the drivers and their passengers admiring the new motel.
