Travelogue showing the delights of Southern Ireland (Eire / Republic of Ireland) as a holiday destination.
Tourists ride along in gypsy caravans pulled by horses. Holidaymakers riding through countryside on horseback. High angle view of Dublin's River Liffey. O'Connell Street. Trinity College - mature students are seen in the library. The Book of Kells - C/U of some of the pages. Dublin Intercontinental Hotel. Coach tour leaves the bus station. C/U of two elderly ladies on the bus.
Hurling match on St Patrick's Day at Croke Park - various shots of the match and spectators. Irish pub - barman reflected in a mirror - nice shot. Pints of Guinness are poured and the head scraped off with a flat knife. Two old geezers drink their Guinness. Sprigs of shamrocks are blessed. O'Connell Street parade - marching band and floats advertising Irish goods including Erin Foods and Guinness.
Phoenix Park - people relax and pet the animals in the park or possibly Dublin Zoo. Livestock Market in Dublin. Pigs, sheep and cows are sold at auction.
Sea fishermen on the way to catch Dublin Bay Prawns. Various shots of them hauling the net aboard. Seagulls fly overhead as the catch is sorted. Erin Foods - woman at work packing food products including freeze dried prawns. Good shots of women working on conveyor belts sorting food. Food is packed into foil packets.
Peat is dug by hand and machine. Special railway transports the peat. Peat burning power station. Beer barrels being loaded onto a cargo ship on Dublin's waterfront. Various shots of ships moving through water. Racehorses - we see them being taken for their daily exercise and racing. Kildare National Stud.
