    Motor racing at Brooklands, Surrey - "The British Mountain Handicap". Racing cars are pushed into position. The race is started by race veteran, Mr. Ebe Abelwight (sp.?). Various shots of race. M/S of crowd of spectators standing on benches made from oil barrels and planks. M/S of cars passing man holding two flags, one chequered. The winner on race is Earl of Grafton, driving an Alfa Romeo.

    Melbury Club Lawn Tennis Tournament, London. M/S of Dorothy Round shaking hands over court net with young Chinese girl, Miss G. Hoing (sp.? possibly Ho-ing?).     Aeroplane crash in United States of America (USA). Various shots of people inspecting twisted wreckage of long distance passenger aeroplane. The plane crashed onto mountainside, killing 11 people. C/U of heroic air hostess, Nellie Granger, in her uniform. She helped 2 passengers to safety before running miles for help - girl power!

    Veteran car rally at Oxted, Surrey. Various shots of cars built before 1904 driving up country lane, passing small crowds on onlookers. Cars are of all shapes and sizes. Some of the drivers wear period costume.

    Brooklands: A.V. Ebblewhite, also known as "Ebby" (not Ebe Abelwight), was the official timekeeper, starter and handicapper at Brooklands from the very first meeting in 1907 to the last in 1939.
