A U.I.C. production. Animation starring Jerry the Troublesome Tyke - a cartoon dog. C/U of the artist (Sid Griffiths?) sitting at a desk with a small easel standing on top of it. He folds up a piece of paper and places it inside a book. He then puts a pen in an ink pot but before he begins drawing he looks at the image already on the paper. There is a folded screen on the piece of paper. A sign is hung from the screen which reads: "Not to be disturbed." Growling noises emerge from behind the screen. Sid scratches his head. He puts his hand on the paper and "moves" the screen to reveal Jerry sitting in an armchair. "Leave me alone - I'm FED UP!" yells Jerry. He curls his lip at Sid then paces backwards and forwards across the piece of paper. "I'm sick of this quiet life - why can't we do a cowboy film?" says Jerry. "Wild West, eh?" says Sid. Jerry smiles and nods. "Yes! - a real Blood and Thunder!" Sid nods and draws some chaps for Jerry to step into. Then he gets a cowboy hat and a pistol - he looks very pleased with himself. Sid draws a big round circle with a spike coming out of it - Jerry looks puzzled. Sid intimates that it is a lasso. Jerry does some nifty work with the rope.
"Now I want a HORSE!" he says. Sid draws him a horse on wheels - a hobby horse. Jerry jumps on it and it breaks into little pieces. "Say Boss - Jest Wot Kinder Hayseed Sucker is This?" he says. Sid sits back in his chair and laughs. He points the gun at Sid and looks very angry. Sid puts his hands in the air looking scared. Jerry continues to mouth off. "Say - Jes' giv me a real bucking broncho or mebbe I'll let daylight inter yuh!!" Sid draws a "real" horse. "Now for the great open spaces!!" exclaims Jerry. The horse swishes its tail and looks mean. It puts its ears backwards and forwards. Jerry points his gun at the horse. Jerry jumps into the saddle. Jerry rides along until suddenly the horse stops and throws Jerry head first. Jerry manages to catch his rope on the end of a branch that is sticking out over "Dead Dog Gulch". He shimmies down the rope and lands head first in a box of dynamite. There is an explosion. We see various bits of Jerry falling out of the sky into a pile. He then stands up and says: "Those great open spaces are too draughty for me!! "He walks behind the screen and puts the "Not to be disturbed" sign up. The End.
