Film Fanfare No. 16 - sections 2 and 3.
'Movie Quiz' chaired by McDonald Hobley and featuring Peter Noble - actress Rosamund John - Picture Post entertainment editor Robert Muller - Picturegoer readers' service worker Jo Greatorex on the panel.
Paul Carpenter introduces 'roving reporter' John Parsons. Cut to Parsons outside the New Theatre where Leslie Caron is starring in 'Gigi'. He interviews Leslie about her role in the play and the film 'Gaby'. Cutaway to crowds of people watching the interview taking place. Leslie seems quite nervous, but is very charming.
Exterior shots of the Dorchester Hotel. Inside we see Parsons interviewing Kim Novak, who is here in England for the first time. She talks about the weather, Cannes Film Festival and answers queries about William Holden - Frank Sinatra - Tyrone Power. She is quite eloquent and self-assured (and gorgeous, of course!). A change from some of the rather staged Film Fanfare interviews.
Voiceover by Parsons says we will hear Doris Day singing 'It's Magic', but instead of this, we cut back to the studio where Paul Carpenter signs off.
