Wedding traditions and customs vary greatly between cultures, ethnic groups, religions, countries, and social classes. So no surprise then, that as well as filming some of the biggest weddings of the 20th Century, British Pathé also captured some of the oddest, a few of which we've collected here.

Trapeze Wedding
"The wedding swingers!"
Peter Brasnett and Margaret Smith took to a trapeze for their wedding in 1959. The pair of circus performers took their official vows in a nearby church before enjoying a sunny reception in mid air!
