Fitting out the Titanic
For the 15,000 men who helped build the Titanic for Harland and Wolff, the work was difficult and dangerous. Health and safety laws were pretty much non existent at this time and as a result 8 people died whilst she was being constructed (one person died just before the launch) and 246 injuries were recorded including 28 "severe".
Note the workers' 'heads' or lavatories fitted clear on the the left hand side of the bow.
