The British Pathé archive holds some of the first ever moving images of animals, and indeed animals have long proved a popular subject matter. Before the days of David Attenborough and the Discovery Channel zoos were often the destination of choice for equipment-heavy camera crews. In this gallery we’ve compiled photos of “cute” animals from different decades within the archive.
Described in the canister notes as one of a kind, this white coyote was filmed in Salt Lake City, Utah nearly 100 years ago. We gave ‘white coyote’ a Google Image search just now and couldn’t find much – so who knows – maybe they are really rare?
